Music Review, new music – Andy Stocks
“From Pennies to Hollywood…”
Distinctly unique. This is one of those albums that’s different every time you listen to it, not only that, but each and every time I listen to it, I decide on a new favourite song! Having said this I would say that the two biggest songs on the album are its title track “Picking Up The Penny” and the final song “The Village Song”.
I love the lyrics of “Picking Up The Penny”, sincerely about the struggles of life and a dream that isn’t easy to achieve, a genre I think we can all relate to, similar theme but different feel of song altogether in “The Village Song”, again about a dream, this time of America and a place to call home. It’s such an uplifting and energetic song, one that you can lay down, close your eyes to and you could be anywhere.
I love the whole album; it’s one to chill out and relax to and leaves you in a good, thoughtful mood. I’m looking forward to more music from Andy Stocks.
